66th 25th of the month

The boyf and I always try to celebrate our monthsaries. It does not have to be grand, as long as we eat out and spend time with each other.

Today is our 66th monthsary and we decided to go to an all-you-can-eat buffet at Joven's Grill in A.S. Fortuna. It is one of our favorites because the PHP178 per person goes a long way.

Nobody seems to give a damn on the Mongolian station. Maybe they are just unaware that it's a part of the buffet. Oh well, their oblivion is my gain. hahah Kidding! The customers are really missing out on a lot of things. Isn't it fun to get to choose what goes in your food and have someone cook it for you? Maybe the raw ingredients at the station are not that inviting.





The best things about buffets for me are unlimited desserts! I specifically loved the tiny chocolate-coated munchkins that I munched on in the middle of my main course. The also small chocolate tart. I think I can chow it down until dawn. hehehe




Can you guess what this is? I decided to play with my drink, so I added some slices of watermelon to my orange juice. Refreshing!


I love monthsaries as much as I enjoy eating!

November Random Rants

Hi blog, I missed you! It’s such a shame that I haven’t written anything for November when a lot of things have transpired.

Top Seller
I am so proud to announce that the boyf is his company’s top seller. Hurray! It’s his first month and he was able to leave a good impression. He was above his target, reaching 105%. I wonder what he’ll do with his commission. I’m guessing a pig out session. And hey it's exactly a month before my birthday! Just kidding!


Allen Iverson
As much as I hate to admit it, I miss my idol. It pains me that Iverson never got an NBA offer so he opted to play in Turkey. He now wears jersey number 4 for Team Cola Besiktas. Too bad he couldn't wear his signature number 3. Apparently,European basketball rules forbid anything lower than 4. I really think that it’s a heartbreaking way to end his great career. What he brought to the NBA was more than the elusive championship ring he chased in his more than a decade's career.

Turkey received him wholeheartedly. He seems happy but I know deep down, he’d rather play at home and showcase what’s left of him. I just hope he finishes his 2-year contract smoothly.

House
It seems like a tornado has hit our 15-year-old house. Our humble abode is under renovation and saying that it’s a mess is an understatement. We can’t’ sleep on our beds because of the chaos and paint stench.

I miss our clean room, especially my bed. I’m actually thinking of rearranging our room because it’s starting to look boring. My dad chose a very cute color, a dark magenta or something. Yey! It’s a good start.


I hope all the trouble is worth it. I am looking forward to a clean and comfortable house. We need to remove all the piled junk that we have. We are finally throwing/giving away the ancient stuff that we no longer use. Our house painter happily brought our old refrigerator and television to his house. As they say “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” Good for him. Good for us.

Internet
I’m having the urge to toilet-paper PLDT. Okay, I know I’m lame.

I must admit it was partly our fault because we forgot to pay our bill last month. But really, only one month??? Is it a sin to be busy? PLDT is so unreasonable. They suddenly changed their payment terms without warning. We are not delinquent payers and this is the first time our telephone line and internet connection were cut.

They say that we shouldn’t depend too much on technology, but honestly, it’s part of my life. After facing the computer for more than eight hours is draining but I need it for my sideline. I have work on my beanie orders, with Facebook on the side. Haha
It is one of the reasons why I haven’t done anything for my blog. I guess you're wondering how the hell I am able to make this post. You'll know later. :)

Glee

As a Gleek, I’m so glad that my assignment this month is to write for our new Glee fan site. Yey!!! It’s almost ready. We just have to do some finishing touches. All the write-ups are nearly done. I spent 90% of my working time writing for the cast, episodes, and what not. Though it was tiresome, I really enjoyed writing about Glee.

To all Gleeks, you have to watch out for the launching of our new site. It is complete with photos, spoilers, news, songs and wait for it… FULL EPISODES!!!! Yeah!

So there you go. I still have a lot to rant about but I’ll leave that for my next blah-blah-blahs. Bye!

Running to a Healthy Life

Getting healthy takes hard work and discipline. Countries all over the world make efforts for humans to be in the pink. Encouraging people to exercise doesn’t always seem to work. The good news is, there is an endeavor that has caught the attention of almost everybody, including celebrities; and it is joining marathons or fun runs.

It is noticeable that even Cebuanos are getting into the trend of running. The Cebu City Sports Complex oval is always packed with joggers and runners sweating their way to a healthy life. There has been a great response to marathon and fun run events here in the metro. Some running events even support causes like Milo’s 34th National Marathon which provides underprivileged children with running shoes. Milo’s Cebu elimination, which provided 400 running shoes to students of Tejero Elementary School, was held last Sept. 5 at the Cebu City Sports Complex.

Why should one choose running? Everybody can run, even kids. It doesn’t need any kind of equipment. People get discouraged to play sports because they require skills plus vigorous trainings. Running is different. Mainly, when you run, it’s free. There is no need to enroll for gym memberships or buy exercise equipment. You may do it at your own pace and time. It doesn’t matter if you have not run in years. It is never too late to start. One of the benefits of running, especially outdoors is that it can relieve stress because fresh air revitalizes the mind and the body. As one runs, the heart pumps blood more efficiently around the body and brain. Running is good for the heart as it reduces blood pressure and it can lower the risk of cancer. It is also a great way to lose weight since it helps control body fat, resulting to toned and strengthened muscles. It also maintains bone density and lowers the risk of osteoporosis

For those who want to run to a healthy lifestyle, the upcoming fun run is Glamour Run on September 19, 2010 (Sunday) at the Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu. You may register at RUNNR Ayala Center, Abellana Sports Complex and Nike BTC. The registration fee is P250 for regular registration and P300 for onsite registration.

October 30, 2010

I didn't have a Halloween party to attend to (boo!) but at least I had a fun pre-Halloween night. I loved my outfit that day. :)

I went to Parkmall and met up with Honey and Cai. I would like to thank Honey for the free frozen yogurt that she greeted with me when I arrived.






Establishments were packed that night. We went to Mooon Cafe Guadalupe for dinner. It was a pretty disappointing one, to be honest. We had to wait for 45 minutes before our chimichanga arrived. They also forgot to serve our drinks and my rice. I have to say the food was not as delicious as I hoped. tsk tsk. I'm so sad that the excellent food and quality service that we used to enjoy vanished. I hope the management will do something about this.






At least they look good on picture. haha Since I loved how I looked that day --- my hair, shirt, shorts, belt, shoes and the whole ensemble, I'll just pretend I wasn't pissed over dinner. hehehe :)

Payday Friday is Dessert Day

After the drama I had last week, the dust has finally settled. I continued with my daily routines, where I experience different writing challenges. But hey I'm not complaining because at the end of the day, I feel tired but not dead exhausted. I most especially look forward to seeing Marvin. As much as possible, we go home together after work. He works on Saturdays, making weekends pretty much irrelevant. :( So we can be able to extend our bonding time, we eat dinner together. It is costly but we take delight in eating together. This is the time when we talk a lot, about the future as well as nonsense stuff. Of course, we make sure to find the cheaper places. Restaurant/eatery hunting is part of the fun.

What makes today different is that it's a beginning of the three-day weekend plus it's a payday! Yeah! The boyf and I were on the same page about having dessert at Dessert Factory (no pun intended!). We went to Ayala and had a sumptuous sizzling dinner at Sizzling Chef. I had a serving of squid, which I really loved, with java rice that wasn't any different than regular except for its orange coloring.


Our final and most-awaited stop was dessert. Everybody knows I'm the dessert monster and I think I'm rubbing it off to Marvin. He had blue berry cheesecake and I ordered vanilla with mango ice cream cake. Since we were still hungry, we ordered Dessert Factory's chili con carne fries with cheese! It was definitely better (and more expensive) than dinner. Well, we didn't really mind because everything was heavenly.




Nobody can ruin my mood today. I am in seventh heaven... especially my stomach and heart :) Thank You, my panggusan. hehe

Quite a Scare

To say that this week is crazy is an understatement. Something really big happened. Part of me wanted to share it with the world, but it was a real can of worms. I have to admit I was depressed. It was difficult to take the news in.It caught me off guard but I never felt scared. Instead of being afraid, I was sad and hurt.

I cried my eyes out. I did a lot of reflection. I realized that if it really was a doom and gloom, I had no control. The concern from the people I love was overwhelming. I guess you really know your true friends in times like this. I thank all of them for reaching out. After that, I honestly got over it. I was able to smile and laugh again. I was able to talk about it without shedding tears.

As oblivious as I was when I got that terrible news, suddenly there was a solution. It made me think, what was that scare all about? Was my faith tested?

In spite of it all, I thank you Lord.

10-10-10

I received a few text messages today greeting me a happy 10-10-10. What significant thing did I do on October 10, 2010? hmmmm, nothing! hahaha

The date sounds amazing and all, and how many times does 10-10-10 come in one's lifetime? To be honest, I pretty much don't care. VECO didn't seem to give a damn as well. In fact, it went on with its inconsiderate power outage. Since the boyf had band practice,I just stayed home today. I slept and ate the entire day.

Cindy was the only spice during my boring 10-10-10. Even if there was a power outage, we brought her to church. Our humble church didn't have a generator but the darkness didn't stop our favorite (not!) priest from yaking! Bummer! Sorry for being mean. But really, that priest's homily lasts for an hour. We did not mind him tonight because Cindy was such was a darling. She did not give us a hard time.







10-10-10 is history! :)
