Holy Week at Bantayan Island

I never expected my parents to allow me to go out of town during the holy week especially if the destination would be Bantayan Island. A lot of people flock to this island because it is known for fun and wild parties during this season. Thankfully, they thought I was mature enough to be trusted. I really needed to unwind with all the problems/responsibilities at work and home.

This was actually my second visit to Bantayan. We stayed stayed at the same generous, warm and hospitable household, but we had different adventures. I was with the same group and a few additions, which consisted of boyf's nursing classmates plus tag-alongs. Just like the first one, we had great food, company and laughter.

Bantayan Island boasts of pristine waters and powdery sand. Even though the sun was scorching hot, I embraced it. Ahhh it was bliss! Never mind the burning feeling the day after or the gorgeous red skin turning into itchy dark spots. Nothing could ever replace that refreshing feeling.

Of course, the trip wouldn't be complete without prayer and reflection. I loved everything that the Bantayons did for their procession. It was very solemn, complete with all the procession floats/carts that reminded us of Jesus' suffering and death.

I have to be honest, there were mishaps but I think all these made our trip more memorable. It was definitely a great experience. I love Bantayan Island!

Former Bamboo Members Move on Without their Front man

Oh my God!!! My boyf tagged me in a post that really shocked me. Apparently, ex-Bamboo members have regrouped, minus front man Bamboo MaƱalac.

The former Bamboo members now call themselves Hijo. I know you are wondering who the new front man is... hmmm honestly, I didn't really see this coming. Nathan Azarcon, who is still on bass is the new vocalist. Ira Cruz and Vic Mercado resume their usual posts. They added two new members Junji Lerma on guitar and Jay-O Orduna on keyboards.

I knew it! The disbandment had something to do with Bamboo the vocalist. What do you think?

Welcoming Summer!

Cebu is just perfect! Every time you feel like hitting the beach or pool, regardless of the weather, you don't have to go far.

My good friend Yowh celebrated her birthday yesterday at Costa Bella Resort in Mactan. The weather was to cooperative. It wasn't super hot during the day and it was cool in the evening. Everything was perfect. Til next time guys! :D

A Certain Person Says She's Sorry

A certain person is missing someone.

This week has been hell for this certain person because she has been very insensitive to the point that she was taking someone for granted. It's just that she is engulfed with so many things, she wasn't aware that this someone, who has been there for her through all the negative circumstances, making her laugh and trying his very best to make her feel okay, was feeling neglected.

This certain person had to learn it the hard way.

It all started with a seemingly harmless argument. The certain person realized too late that it wasn't harmless at all. He has been hurt after she got irritated with a very nonsense whatchamacallit. It was a shallow thing but it was a big deal to him. He didn't deserve it at all. She was so confused why it was such a big deal. They seldom argue and she just lost her temper. Was there a need to overreact?

As it turned out, the overreaction stemmed from something deeper. Someone felt that this certain person has been unhappy with him. She easily got irritated and she was withdrawn. He tried to ignore the signs and was extra understanding. He probably was at the end of his rope.

Did she come clean that it was her fault? Yes. Did he admit he overreact? He did.

You all would think that it will all be okay after the admissions. Well, the solution that the couple who has been together for almost six years resorted to is a week-long hiatus. They decided to give each other some space, hoping that the next time they see each other, everything will be back to normal. Or that maybe their relationship will be stronger. The last time they did this was about three years ago and it worked pretty well. This isn't a breakup or a cool off. It's just a breather that (I think) all couples need.

This is certainly different from plainly being apart; the couple has been apart longer than two months. They each go out with their friends when they want to; neither one of them is clingy. It hasn't been easy for her because she questions it truly is the solution and she fears if it will really be okay in the end. Will this make the heart go fonder or will this make him realize he is better off without her? She will find out soon.

No relationship is ever perfect. Love needs rekindling in order for the couple to grow together. Each person needs space from time to time to grow individually. This isn't a sign of weakness, rather it is a sign of strength that they trust each other.

A certain person says she's sorry. She can't wait to see him tomorrow. :D

Absenty Blogger

The absenty blogger is back! I miss writing about my life but there seem to be a lot of things that I couldn't (shouldn't) share here. I mean, it's too complicated and personal. I also couldn't find the right words to express how I feel. :(

I have been through a lot this year... well lately. The lady who seldom cries has been shedding a lot of tears. I wish I would be alright soon. I am definitely trying to be strong. I always say that my life is quite normal, too normal. My experiences are so typical, not that challenging. I guess you do have to be careful what you wish for. The once normal life has become one roller coaster ride. Since I love riding the roller coaster, I'll try to enjoy it! hahaha :D

I choose to put include this photo in this post because I love sunrises and sunsets. They are always comforting. My boyf and I were on our way home when I saw this. It's a lovely sight and I really felt relaxed after seeing it.

Have a great weekend, everyone!
