+/-

Although you were not permitted to, you managed to break through that sturdy barrier. Once you did, there was no turning back. Everything got exposed. You sensed the vulnerability and so you struck, offering promises you surely could not keep. Was she a fool for believing someone like you?

Plus points for your ego. A deficit for her pride.

Instead of grabbing the chance, you took it for granted. What was your ultimate goal for breaking in? It's damn too hard to decipher.

For a taste of pleasure, she becomes permanently scarred.

She is still picking up the pieces... slowly rebuilding what has been broken. Her scar is simply a reminder to keep moving forward and build something indestructible this time.

Trapdoor

Pride, too much of it or the lack thereof, is a killer. Acting like everything is under control sure is hard. When in eventuality, you're standing on a trapdoor. One move and you'll either escape or just free-fall into a cycle. And then it goes on.

If you're too scared to lose something good, how would you obtain what's better?

Maybe it's time you think about yourself for a change. Because if everything else is gone, who will you turn to?

A Realization

Life is such a freaking pain in the ass. It's so cruel to give you all the confusing elements you can live without. You take a peek. And when you finally embrace them and somehow get attached to them despite your initial hesitation, you get reminded that it's not yours to keep.

Nothing is indeed permanent; isn't it the reason behind death?

When sadness fills your life, you appreciate the people who care for you... love you... accept you... shower you with everything you need without having to ask, no questions asked. In spite of the pain that you feel, you move on.

..slowly.

Oh Cometh Lazy Bug

The unwelcome lazy bug has visited me again. Lurking these past few weeks, it finally invaded my boring hell of a life. No one's complaining, really. There's nothing to grumble about. Let it be. Nobody has ever died of piling work and unfinished tasks anyway.

Life hasn't been kind at all. Heck, I honestly don't give a damn. As I go on with the my hapless routine, I find peace in doing nothing. I somehow find comfort in allowing my mind to shut down, my eyes to stare blankly and my heart to be numb. Gonna free fall out into nothin’ as John Mayer says. Wise man. Precisely my sentiment.

There is a hint of delight somewhere, I'm not going to lie. Just like the uninvited lazy bug, it's slowly creeping in.

Revisiting Enchanted Kingdom

As part of my 3-day vacation, I revisited Enchanted Kingdom last July 30, together with my two siblings and respective partners. hehehe My relatives were also with us. The last time I was there was about eight years ago.

I really have a fetish for amusement parks. It makes me feel like a child again. The bad weather didn't stop us from riding the thrilling rides. All we did was buy ourselves some rain coats. The great thing about it was that the lines were not that long.

When I was younger, I used to be terrified of these rides but I rode them anyway. haha This time, I wasn't that scared anymore. I also didn't feel dizzy. I guess I have already grown. (Whatever!) It was my first time to ride the Anchor's away because people used to scare us, sharing their awful experience. When I tried it, it was actually okay. I even enjoyed it. I think people are just trying to exaggerate to make them seem brave. haha now, that is so mean!

I rode the Jungle Log Jam twice because they failed to take our photo the first time. hahaha Talk about being vain! I have to say I have to regrets since our photo turned out to be really nice. I was so focused on where to look that I forgot how scary the ride was.
The highlight of my fantasy experience was the space shuttle. I have ridden it twice before but I never

I had a wonderful time bonding with my cousins. They are like my little sisters. It still amazes me how we remain close even if we seldom see each other.

I wonder when I would be able to come back. I hope my next visit will be a sunny day. :)

Blah

Ironic how I posted all the reasons why I love the month of July, yet I have failed to blog about anything after it. I always think of something to rant about in writing but I often feel too lazy or uninspired. Where have all the creative juices gone to? Call me boring or weird but writing somehow frees me from my seemingly-normal-but-in-reality-chaotic world.

With an empty brain and a growling stomach, (plus my dad's snore in the background) I re-read my previous posts and I realize it's like reading someone else's works. They don't feel like me at all. They all sound dull and monotonous. My friends say I write best when I am mean or sarcastic. With my resolution to remain positive, I guess there is a big clash. Everyone deserves to give in to his/her negative emotions, right?

With the lamest attempts to produce something decent in the unholiest time (almost 3:00 a.m.), I end up with blah blah blahs. But then again blah blah blahs are simply me. I believe this is a start.

Why I Love July

Ahh! July is here! I have tons of reasons why I have been anticipating this month. Okay, you have to bear with me because I'm really really sleepy thanks to the cold weather.

First off, it's my boyf's 26th birthday. Sorry panggs, I just had to mention how old you are now. haha We had dinner tonight in a resto that we both love. I think I have posted too many photos of that place because it's a favorite. The birthday boy requested me to postpone the documentation on his celebration with his family. I'll be cooking on that day. Too bad you're not invited. hehe

Next on the list is Neekul Beanies' first anniversary! Woohoo! I thank God for giving me a lot of customers this past year. I still can't believe people trust my rather unskillful and stubborn hands. Every beanie request is indeed a great challenge. To show my appreciation to everyone who has supported my sideline, I'll be giving away free beanies! There will be new contests every week and I hope everyone will grab this opportunity. It's not everyday that some stranger gives away handmade/customized beanies. All the members of the Neekul Beanies Facebook fanpage are eligible to join.

I would like to thank Alex Lorenzana, who has been very helpful since the very beginning of this beanie journey. She has once again awed me with this July poster. Get ready to receive another complimentary beanie of your choice. haha That's how I reward those who contribute to my success!

Lastly, I am giddy about the third visit of Incubus here in the Philippines. I have missed the first two and I won't let another opportunity pass again. I wish I could just spend P6,000 to see the band up close but my cheapskate conscience is bugging me. I decided to settle on the ticket worth P3,000 and spend the extra money in Enchanted Kingdom and other activities. Well this amount is still expensive, considering our other expenses especially the airfare. It's a good thing I have a kind fairy god aunt by the name of Tita Liza. I am extra happy as my boyf will be tagging along. It is my pleasure to be with him in his first trip to Manila. He will also get to meet my relatives there. Also with us are my Mitch & Eric, then Miles & Alex. I guess it's going to be a triple date! Everything is set and I really really can't wait!

Mitch's birthday is this month and I hope she'll treat to some fancy food. ehem ehem. I promise to get you a nice gift! haha

What's for Dinner?

Food has taken over my mind, mouth and stomach today. I have been munching non-stop since morning. Could you believe I had Reese's at breakfast and Snickers for lunch? Well, technically they are just additions to my usual meals. haha I think I had too much chocolates and junkfood while on my desk. My God! Talk about a sedentary lifestyle!

On the drive home, I was contemplating on my dinner. I didn't know what my beloved dad has cooked for dinner but I already convinced myself that I will eat some dried fish or "tuyo"/"bulad"/"buwad." So when I arrived, I hurriedly checked out our fridge so I can already fry my chosen chow and went to the kitchen to see if there was cooked rice already.

They say that salted fish is a type of food for the poor. I beg to differ because I know a lot of well-off people who are great fans of this salty appetizer. Some who are already on the other side of the world would even crave for it. Those who don't eat dried fish are missing out on a lot of heavenly goodness. haha Anyway, I'm just happy I was able to eat what I wanted. Have a sumptuous dinner just like I did!

STS Designs at White Sands

After my trip to Bantayan Island and Yo's birthday celebration at Costa Bella, I really assumed my summer was over. We were delighted when our boss E-mailed us last week about a paid relaxation day. Who would say no to that?

Yesterday, June 18, the whole crew of Screentext Software Designs headed to White Sands in Mactan. Well, almost because Binky and Neil were missing in action. It was my first time in the resort. With its sumptuous dishes, excellent service and breathtaking scenery, I really think it was the perfect venue for our team building/outing. It was indeed, er relaxing. Because it was a Friday, there weren't too many people.

The games that our boss prepared were fun, which really allowed us to get to know each other. They also brought out our competitive side.

The rest of the day was spent by taking gazillion photos, playing billiards, chatting, fooling around and pool-hopping. We swam until all of us experienced cramps . haha

This outing was a perfect summer ender. Let's do this again! Special thanks to our big boss, Sir Burt Lao and his family for the wonderful relaxation day.

Our 6th Anniversary

Our 6th Panggs Day last May 25 was spent the best way we know... by pigging out! We enjoyed an all-you-can eat Japanese buffet at Mikado and coffee-dessert at Mr. Coffee.
My face lit up when I saw my gigantic gift that the boyf meticulously wrapped. My gift for him looked like a disastrous elementary project. haha I was very pleased when I saw the two matching bags with camera print. Aww! He really knows what I want! I was planning to buy a small bag to avoid bringing an obvious camera bag.
I gave him a computer bag that is too big for his netbook since he t0ld me he wanted just one bag for all his office stuff. I really hope he liked

We really love Japanese food; the cooked ones anyway. I know how lousy it sounds but you really couldn't shove raw fish or meat to my mouth!

As you may know, I am not the type who gets stressed about clothes. I just chose to wear a simple outfit made me look kind of human. haha I am so proud of my panggusan for his extra effort to dress nicely.
I know I have said this more than a thousand times but I"ll say it again, you're the greatest gift God has given me.I lab you my panggusan! Thank you for the love, patience, kindness, inspiration.I'm so blessed to have spent the last seven years with you.

Here's something I wrote during our 5th anniv to refresh your mind. hehe HOW FIVE YEARS STARTED.

Mother's Day and Pacquaio's Fight

We spent the day at our condo unit in Woodcrest Residences, Guadalupe. We had an early swim... err picture-taking. haha The fight may have been boring but we enjoyed ourselves eating, screaming at Mosley and being silly.

This was how we looked; laid-back focused on the fight that turned out to be . My dad's armpits smelled good. haha
This was my gift to my mom. A red pillow that said "I <3 MOM. My mom is the strongest woman in my life and she has been bravely fighting her toughest battle. We're always here for you and thank you for everything! We love you very much!

Holy Week at Bantayan Island

I never expected my parents to allow me to go out of town during the holy week especially if the destination would be Bantayan Island. A lot of people flock to this island because it is known for fun and wild parties during this season. Thankfully, they thought I was mature enough to be trusted. I really needed to unwind with all the problems/responsibilities at work and home.

This was actually my second visit to Bantayan. We stayed stayed at the same generous, warm and hospitable household, but we had different adventures. I was with the same group and a few additions, which consisted of boyf's nursing classmates plus tag-alongs. Just like the first one, we had great food, company and laughter.

Bantayan Island boasts of pristine waters and powdery sand. Even though the sun was scorching hot, I embraced it. Ahhh it was bliss! Never mind the burning feeling the day after or the gorgeous red skin turning into itchy dark spots. Nothing could ever replace that refreshing feeling.

Of course, the trip wouldn't be complete without prayer and reflection. I loved everything that the Bantayons did for their procession. It was very solemn, complete with all the procession floats/carts that reminded us of Jesus' suffering and death.

I have to be honest, there were mishaps but I think all these made our trip more memorable. It was definitely a great experience. I love Bantayan Island!
