A Certain Person Says She's Sorry

A certain person is missing someone.

This week has been hell for this certain person because she has been very insensitive to the point that she was taking someone for granted. It's just that she is engulfed with so many things, she wasn't aware that this someone, who has been there for her through all the negative circumstances, making her laugh and trying his very best to make her feel okay, was feeling neglected.

This certain person had to learn it the hard way.

It all started with a seemingly harmless argument. The certain person realized too late that it wasn't harmless at all. He has been hurt after she got irritated with a very nonsense whatchamacallit. It was a shallow thing but it was a big deal to him. He didn't deserve it at all. She was so confused why it was such a big deal. They seldom argue and she just lost her temper. Was there a need to overreact?

As it turned out, the overreaction stemmed from something deeper. Someone felt that this certain person has been unhappy with him. She easily got irritated and she was withdrawn. He tried to ignore the signs and was extra understanding. He probably was at the end of his rope.

Did she come clean that it was her fault? Yes. Did he admit he overreact? He did.

You all would think that it will all be okay after the admissions. Well, the solution that the couple who has been together for almost six years resorted to is a week-long hiatus. They decided to give each other some space, hoping that the next time they see each other, everything will be back to normal. Or that maybe their relationship will be stronger. The last time they did this was about three years ago and it worked pretty well. This isn't a breakup or a cool off. It's just a breather that (I think) all couples need.

This is certainly different from plainly being apart; the couple has been apart longer than two months. They each go out with their friends when they want to; neither one of them is clingy. It hasn't been easy for her because she questions it truly is the solution and she fears if it will really be okay in the end. Will this make the heart go fonder or will this make him realize he is better off without her? She will find out soon.

No relationship is ever perfect. Love needs rekindling in order for the couple to grow together. Each person needs space from time to time to grow individually. This isn't a sign of weakness, rather it is a sign of strength that they trust each other.

A certain person says she's sorry. She can't wait to see him tomorrow. :D
